Leaflitter Crab Spider (Ozyptila praticola)

Ozyptila praticola is on of the crab spiders which is the Thomisidae family of the Araneae order. It can be found throughout Europe most of the year. Females reach up to 4 mm in size and males up to 3 mm. They are a dark reddish brown. It occurs primarily on the ground and in the lower parts of the trees or flowers. This is their hunting area and also the location where the female deposits and guards its egg sac.
