Flesh Fly (Pollenia rudis)
Within Pollenia there are a few species that do look like another very much. They can only be told apart after microscopic investigations. Gardensafari does not do that kind of stuff because it would involve killing the animal. It is for this reason, please, bare in mind that even though the depicted animal belongs to the genus Pollenia, it is not fully certain that it actually is Pollenia rudis. This species may appear in great groups in atumn and is one of the so-called Cluster Flies.
